On most worlds the rule of law is whatever the locals have decided to enforce — which may be a lot, or almost nothing at all.
Generally, guns are allowed to be carried openly outside. Most businesses require weapons to be locked up at the door. Enforcement of various laws varies wildly by planet — some worlds are strict, others barely bother. Travelers are advised to pay attention to local customs rather than assuming universal rules apply.
